Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the delivery of site Safety, Health and Environmental systems and programmes
- Conducting site audits, inspections, safety tours and behavioural safety conversations
- Managing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 system requirements including audits and documentation
- Supporting Process Safety Management activities including risk assessments, MOC and PHA tasks
- Leading and supporting contractor management, inductions and competency checks
- Delivering HSE inductions, toolbox talks and awareness training
- Participating in incident investigations, root cause analysis and tracking corrective actions
- Managing environmental compliance including permit requirements, waste legislation and reporting
- Maintaining HSE systems and records including audit reports and corrective actions
- Collecting and analysing HSE metrics and reporting trends to drive improvement
- Supporting emergency response arrangements, drills and preparedness activities
- Deputising for the SHE Manager when required
Requirements
- NEBOSH General Certificate preferred; IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum with willingness to progress
- Solid knowledge of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and best practice
- Practical understanding of risk assessment, COSHH, permit-to-work, LOTO, confined spaces and working at height
- Working knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Experience within a manufacturing, chemical or industrial environment desirable
- Experience conducting audits, inspections and behavioural safety interactions
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently at all levels
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable navigating digital HSE platforms
- Proactive, solutions-focused with a continuous improvement mindset
