Purpose of the role
To support the Engineering Manager in the coordination of engineering activities across assigned projects, ensuring that engineering deliverables, project interfaces, risks, changes, reporting, and HSEQ requirements are managed effectively. The Project Coordinator will work closely with the Engineering Manager, Technical Authority, project teams, and wider stakeholders to ensure that engineering work is delivered in line with company standards, HSE requirements, local regulations, and project objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Engineering Manager in coordinating engineering activities across assigned projects.
- Reviewing and following up on critical engineering deliverables to ensure design integrity.
- Liaising with the Technical Authority to ensure adherence to engineering, HSE, company, and local regulatory standards.
- Monitoring engineering progress and supporting corrective actions where required.
- Ensuring timely and accurate project status reporting.
- Supporting project management activities, including risk, interface, and change management.
- Maintaining high safety standards and ensuring compliance with HSEQ processes.
- Travelling as required to support project activities, meetings, vendor visits, or site requirements.
Main responsibilities
- Support the Engineering Manager in the planning, coordination, and follow-up of engineering activities for assigned projects.
- Coordinate with internal engineering teams, technical authorities, contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and delivered.
- Review critical engineering deliverables and documentation to support design integrity, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
- Liaise with the Technical Authority to ensure that engineering activities are carried out in accordance with company engineering standards, HSE requirements, local regulations, and applicable codes.
- Monitor engineering progress against project schedules, deliverables, and milestones, identifying potential delays, risks, or issues.
- Support the implementation of corrective actions where engineering progress, quality, compliance, or schedule issues are identified.
- Prepare, maintain, and support timely project status reporting, including progress updates, key issues, risks, actions, and upcoming priorities.
- Assist the Engineering Manager with project management activities, with a particular focus on risk management, interface coordination, change management, and stakeholder communication.
- Support the coordination and tracking of project actions, technical queries, change requests, interface points, and engineering decisions.
- Promote effective communication between engineering, project management, HSE, procurement, construction, contractors, vendors, and other relevant functions.
- Ensure compliance with company HSEQ processes, procedures, and standards across all engineering and project coordination activities.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
- Attend internal and external meetings as required, supporting the Engineering Manager with preparation, documentation, action tracking, and follow-up.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Engineering Manager or Project Management team.
- Be flexible to travel as required to support project delivery, stakeholder engagement, vendor activities, or site-based requirements.
Skills and experience required
- Previous experience in a Project Coordinator, Engineering Coordinator, Project Engineer, Technical Coordinator, or similar project support role.
- Experience supporting engineering or technical project delivery within the energy, oil & gas, power, infrastructure, industrial, or similar project environment.
- Good understanding of engineering deliverables, technical documentation, project coordination, and design review processes.
- Knowledge of project management principles, including progress monitoring, reporting, risk management, interface management, and change control.
- Strong awareness of HSE, HSEQ, engineering standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Ability to liaise effectively with engineering teams, technical authorities, contractors, vendors, clients, and wider project stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow actions through to completion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project reporting tools.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively within a multidisciplinary project environment.
- Flexible and adaptable, with the ability to respond to changing project priorities.
- Willingness to travel as required.
