  • SUMMARY OF POSITION

Kinsley is seeking a Safety Specialist to join our growing team.

Based out of York, PA office, the Safety Specialist will play a key role in ensuring the implementation of safety measures, communication of safety requirements, and conducting thorough inspections to guarantee compliance.

Responsibilities include creating Hazard Analysis and Accident Prevention Plans, accident reporting/investigation, and providing comprehensive safety training for construction field employees.

The ideal candidate must have excellent communication skills, organizational skills, be self-motivated and be willing to commute to job sites as required.

Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.

  • TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Orient subcontractors to ensure their understanding of Kinsley's site-specific requirements.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of job sites and machinery to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Lead investigations into workplace incidents.
  • Participate in meetings with onsite management to actively promote workplace safety.
  • Develop training materials aimed at minimizing employee exposure to hazardous materials and situations.
  • Conduct training sessions on assorted topics such as confined spaces, trenching & excavating, fall protection, CPR/FA, etc.
  • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills while collaborating with employees, customers, and business associates at all levels, maintaining a professional attitude.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Intermediate proficiency in MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook)
  • Extensive knowledge and/or experience with the rules and regulations of Workers Comp, OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and the EPA.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the construction industry preferred.
  • A degree in safety is desirable.
  • OSHA 10 & 30 HR certification.
  • Proficiency in the use of air monitoring devices.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
