What you'll do

  • Lead and manage highway and bridge construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to project specifications and timelines.
  • Collaborate with design teams to review plans and specifications, providing input on constructability and value engineering opportunities.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting and financial tracking throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and services, maintaining strong relationships to facilitate project success.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, address issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Prepare and present project updates to stakeholders, including clients, regulatory agencies, and internal teams, ensuring clear communication of project status and challenges.
  • Implement risk management strategies to identify potential issues and develop contingency plans to mitigate risks.
  • Ensure all project documentation is maintained accurately, including contracts, change orders, and progress reports.
  • Foster a culture of safety on the job site by promoting best practices and ensuring all team members are trained and compliant with safety protocols.
  • Mentor and guide junior project staff, providing training and support to develop their skills and careers within the company.
  • Participate in project bidding processes, including preparing proposals and negotiating contracts with clients and subcontractors.
  • Stay current with industry trends, regulations, and technologies to ensure Kinsley remains competitive and compliant in the marketplace.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the highway and bridge construction sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale infrastructure projects from start to finish.
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools, such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Nice to have

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience with sustainable construction practices and green building certifications.
  • Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to highway and bridge construction.
  • Knowledge of advanced construction technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM).
  • Experience in public sector projects or working with government agencies.

Skills & tools

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and project management software.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on project metrics.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
  • Understanding of environmental regulations and compliance issues related to construction projects.
