Our client, a leading international distributor of television programming and formats, is seeking an additional Legal Counsel to join their top quality Legal & Business Affairs team.
You will play a crucial role in supporting the company\’s operations across territories and engage with various facets of business affairs, including rights in, acquisitions and formats. The team is very friendly and supportive and you will be made to feel welcome from day one.
You will work closely with Senior Counsel and the entire Legal & Business Affairs team across non-scripted acquisitions and collaborate with the Production and Content teams. In addition, there will also be formats acquisitions and licensing, which involves working with different teams and different deal structures, often across different territories. There is a lot of depth to both of those areas, as they build up on knowledge and experience of the production and commissioning processes and the terms of trade for all the major broadcasters.
The successful candidate is likely to have around 1-3 years’ PQE, or equivalent. You should have media (ideally TV) business affairs experience, with a knowledge of TV, copyright and contract law and strong legal skills. Culturally, the huge success of this company is based on good communication, initiative, teamwork and commercial acumen. The successful candidate will have amazing access to high quality programming and plenty of opportunities for career progression and development.
