We are supporting an international consumer brand seeking a commercially minded Legal Counsel to join its UK & Ireland legal team on a fixed-term basis, initially for 3 months with an ASAP start.

This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior stakeholders across a diverse business, advising on a broad range of commercial and regulatory matters in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The Role

You will partner with teams across Retail Operations, Marketing, E-commerce, Merchandising, HR, Property and Finance, providing pragmatic, business-focused legal advice that supports commercial objectives while managing risk.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial, marketing, supplier and event agreements
  • Advising on e-commerce, consumer law, reseller and distribution arrangements, advertising and data privacy
  • Supporting regulatory, licensing and competition law matters
  • Identifying and mitigating legal risk while ensuring compliance with internal policies and applicable legislation
  • Managing disputes, external legal advisers and legal spend
  • Delivering legal training and compliance guidance to internal stakeholders
  • Supporting wider business initiatives and strategic projects across the UK & Ireland operations

About You

You will have solid experience in commercial contracts and day-to-day business advisory work. Experience gained in both private practice and in-house is advantageous, although candidates with strong relevant experience from either background will be considered.

You’ll also bring:

  • Strong commercial contracts drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience advising on marketing, e-commerce, consumer law and data privacy issues
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with sound commercial judgement
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a busy environment
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and a collaborative mindset
