This is a rare opportunity for an experienced media lawyer to join a specialist media practice in a senior leadership position. The firm is widely recognised as a trusted advisor to many of the UK’s leading independent production companies, broadcasters, and content producers. With deep expertise in the legal and regulatory issues affecting television and VOD, the team is proud to help shape some of the most innovative and high-profile programming on screen today.
About the Role
As a key member of the senior leadership team, you will:
- Lead and grow the Legal & Compliance Department, setting strategic direction and driving performance.
- Deliver expert legal and regulatory advice across the full spectrum of media law and compliance issues, from defamation and privacy to copyright and broadcast regulation.
- Mentor and manage a talented team of lawyers, fostering both professional development and excellent client service.
- Partner with the CEO and management team on firm-wide strategy, compliance, and business development.
- Represent the firm at industry events, raising its profile and building strong professional networks.
About You
You will be an experienced solicitor (England & Wales) with substantial PQE in media law, ideally with experience in TV legal and compliance at a major UK broadcaster, studio, production company or regulator. You will have a track record of advising high-profile clients on complex and sensitive legal matters and excellent drafting, communication, and analytical skills. Commercial awareness and strategic insight, coupled with a commitment to compliance and best practice are key.
Whether you are already a Salaried Partner or a Senior Associate ready for partnership in private practice OR a senior lawyer in-house, you will bring the ambition, expertise, and leadership to take ownership of this critical function!
