An exciting opportunity has arisen for a TV or Film lawyer to join a multi award-winning production business covering unscripted and scripted programming. Our client develops and produces a range of award winning unscripted and scripted TV and film content.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing legal and business affairs support on various matters from the production, development, distribution and financing of various unscripted and scripted television and film projects.
  • Negotiating and drafting long form agreements and term sheets relating to the production, development, and exploitation of television and film projects, including agreements with distributors, commissioners, talent, financiers, contributors, advisors, facilities, locations, access agreements and suppliers.
  • Ensuring that production activities comply with all regulations and applicable laws in the UK and other relevant jurisdictions and territories.
  • Collaborating efficiently with various departments including production, creative, finance, marketing and distribution.
  • Assisting in the development of relationships and partnerships between the business and third parties across the UK television and film landscape.
  • This role focuses on unscripted projects primarily, but you will also support on scripted projects and/or US matters.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Extensive hands-on experience and expertise in the production, distribution and development of television/feature films.
  • Unscripted experience is required.
  • Scripted experience is a plus.
  • Excellent understanding of UK guild, union and US exposure.
  • Excellent level of written and organisational/oral skills.
