Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager – Maternity Cover (January 2026)
High‑end scripted TV | Global streamer collaborations | 6–9 months from January 2026 | 4 or 5 days per week
A leading independent drama producer – behind some of the UK’s most acclaimed and globally successful scripted series – is seeking a Senior Legal & Business Affairs Manager to cover maternity leave from January 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Negotiate and draft high‑value contracts for on‑ and off‑screen talent (actors, directors, executive producers) for both UK and global productions.
- Support production teams from development through delivery – attending kick‑off meetings, setting up contract workflows, and ensuring smooth coordination across departments.
- Draft development agreements with commissioners and oversee production‑related legal matters throughout the life cycle of a show.
- Collaborate with business, legal, and finance teams to manage clearances, third‑party agreements, and compliance.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of industry terms, templates, and policies.
About You
- Qualified lawyer with significant legal and business affairs experience in TV production – ideally across both independent and studio‑backed environments.
- Expert contract drafter and confident negotiator with strong knowledge of the UK television landscape.
- Commercially astute, collaborative, and able to juggle multiple high‑end scripted productions.
- Strong grasp of rights, clearances, and music licensing.
- Comfortable working at pace and autonomously within a busy creative business.
Start: January 2026
Duration: 6–9 months (maternity cover)
Days: 4 or 5 per week
