An outstanding opportunity has arisen for two talented commercial lawyers to join a highly regarded Film, Television & Theatre team in private practice. Working alongside market-leading partners and senior lawyers, the successful candidates will advise an impressive client base across the film, television, theatre and live events industries on a broad range of commercial, rights, production and finance matters. This is an exciting opportunity for ambitious lawyers who are passionate about the entertainment sector and keen to play a key role within a dynamic and collaborative practice.
The Role
The team advises producers, studios, investors, financiers and other major industry participants on a wide variety of matters, including:
- Rights acquisition and exploitation matters
- Drafting and negotiating creator, production and commercial agreements
- Development, finance, production and distribution arrangements
- Production-related legal and commercial support
- Structuring advice for producers, studios and investors
- General commercial and intellectual property matters
The work is sophisticated, varied and highly client-facing, offering excellent exposure to some of the most recognised names in the entertainment industry.
Candidate Requirements
Applications are welcomed from lawyers with at least 4 years’ PQE, although candidates in the 5–9 years’ PQE range are particularly encouraged to apply. Candidates should demonstrate:
- Strong commercial contracts and/or intellectual property experience
- Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
- A pragmatic and commercially focused approach to legal advice
- Confidence managing transactions and client relationships
- Strong technical ability combined with excellent interpersonal skills
- An interest in mentoring and developing junior lawyers
- A genuine enthusiasm for the film, television, theatre and live events sectors
