As a Shift Manager, you will lead all operational activity for your assigned shift, delivering the chocolate production plan safely, efficiently, and on time. You will manage a team of production staff across multiple lines, driving performance to achieve KPI targets for safety, quality, cost, and output. You will champion safety and food compliance, drive continuous improvement, and coach your team to build skills and capability.

Responsibilities

  • Manage your shift team (Production Operatives, Machine Operatives, Mixers and Team Leaders, and seasonal agency staff) to deliver production plans safely and efficiently.
  • Drive performance on the lines, ensuring KPIs for quality, safety, and productivity are met.
  • Promote a “Safety First” culture and maintain compliance with food safety standards.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for your department.
  • Develop and coach your team, ensuring skills and training plans are in place.

Experience

  • Experience managing large teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong process knowledge in manufacturing equipment and food safety standards within the FMCG industry.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
  • Strong literacy and numeracy skills, with the ability to write clear handovers, professional emails, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Desirable additional qualifications in Food Safety, HACCP, CI/Lean.

  • Salary: £40,800.00 – £45,009.54

Our Fakenham site operates across three key production areas - Novelty, Nut, and Moulding, each led by a Plant Manager and supported by dedicated Shift Managers working on a 4 on 4 off pattern across days and nights. The site is an 11,000 m² facility producing over 8,500 tonnes of confectionery annually, including NOMO – the UK’s #1 free-from chocolate brand. We supply major retailers and co-manufacture for some of the world’s biggest confectionery brands. Every year, we produce over 5 million advent calendars and 30 million Easter eggs in a fast-paced, innovative environment.
