Are you a proactive and driven engineer with a passion for operational excellence? Kinnerton Confectionery is seeking a new Engineer to join our team at the Fakenham site. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of one of the UK’s leading confectionery manufacturers by ensuring our production machinery operates safely, efficiently, and reliably.

Position type: Full time, permanent

Hours: 40.25 per week average

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off days (6am-6pm) & nights (6pm-6am)

Pay rate: £22.98/ hour

Responsibilities include:

  • Execute all planned maintenance to specified standards and within allocated timeframes.
  • Complete additional engineering tasks as requested, adhering to company policies and safety standards.
  • Ensure products meet Kinnerton Confectionery Quality Standards by maintaining and improving machine performance.
  • Foster collaborative working relationships with department heads and cross-functional teams.
  • Deliver objectives set by management, including personal development and training compliance (>95%).
  • Drive continuous improvement through Kaizen initiatives and engineering-led projects.
  • Complete all work with a focus on health and safety, food safety, and compliance with company policies.
  • Support project teams and contribute to audits by ensuring an “audit-ready” state at all times.
  • Record and analyze data to improve asset performance, including MTTR, MTBF, and downtime targets.

Essential:

  • Multi-skilled engineer with a recognised apprenticeship/qualification.
  • Manufacturing experience with knowledge of applicable machinery such as metal detectors, flow wrappers, and PLC systems.
  • Logical thought process and strong communication skills.
  • Proactive approach and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High standards of work, with a focus on delivering lasting solutions.
  • Computer literacy and knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Understanding of food safety and health and safety standards.

Desirable:

  • HNC/HND qualification or equivalent.
  • HACCP and IOSH certification.
  • 17th/18th Edition Electrical Qualification.
