- Establish clear performance expectations, accountability, and professional discipline across the technical events function
- Develop senior technicians as operational leaders responsible for frontline delivery
- Own workforce planning, skills development, and technical capability coverage
- Governance, Standards & Discipline
- Define and enforce governance frameworks covering technical design, delivery standards, operational risk, and service quality
- Ensure consistent application of technical, safety, and broadcast standards across all event types
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex, high-profile, or high-risk events
- Drive continuous improvement through structured post-event reviews and service performance analysis
- Strategic Technical & Hybrid Event Planning
- Lead strategic planning for in-person, hybrid, and fully virtual events, ensuring scalable and resilient technical designs
- Set the technical vision for enterprise hybrid events delivered through Microsoft collaboration platforms
- Ensure event architectures are aligned with network capability, security constraints, and organisational standards
- Oversee technical planning for complex events involving multiple locations, live contributors, and external audiences
- Microsoft Teams & Enterprise Broadcast Expertise
- Provide authoritative oversight for events delivered via Microsoft Teams and Teams Town Hall
- Own the technical standards and architectural approaches for enterprise streaming and hybrid event workflows
- Demonstrate expert understanding of how audio and video signals are encoded, transported, and managed across corporate networks and cloud platforms
- Ensure teams design events with full consideration of latency, resilience, bandwidth, redundancy, and failure scenarios
- Act as the technical authority for escalation, design assurance, and best practice in enterprise hybrid events working alongside UC team colleagues
- Stakeholder & Supplier Management
- Serve as the senior technical events partner for internal stakeholders
- Translate business and communications objectives into robust technical event strategies
- Manage external suppliers and partners, ensuring quality, consistency, and value for money
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and procurement for technical event services
- Operational Assurance (Non-Hands-On)
- Maintain oversight of live event delivery without participating in day-to-day technical operation
- Ensure Senior Event Technicians are accountable for execution, issue management, and incident response
- Monitor service health, risk, and performance trends across all supported events
Skills & experience:
