A bit about us: Kington St Michael CE Primary School is a small village school located just outside Chippenham surrounded by beautiful countryside. We are a popular school with a strong sense of community, where every child is known and valued. Expectations are high across the school and standards are consistently good. KSM is “a Good school” (Ofsted, February 2025) and an Outstanding Church School (SIAMS, January 2024).
We are looking to appoint a kind, dedicated, inspiring and creative Key Stage 1 teacher to help our children grow in confidence and curiosity every day. We are looking for someone who is able to work effectively and successfully in a mixed age class. This position is for a mixed year 1/2 class. All about the role:
- We are seeking an experienced, kind, ambitious, talented and enthusiastic class teacher.
- The successful candidate will:
- Have at least two year’s recent relevant teaching experience.
- Will have energy, vision, creativity and who shares a passion for teaching and learning.
- Will be an experienced, enthusiastic, inspiring and dedicated teacher who is able to work effectively teaching a mixed age KS1 class, with a good understanding of the year 1 and 2 curriculum.
- Experience delivering high quality phonics and administering PSC would be helpful.
- Experience leading a core subject would be an advantage.
- Have high aspirations and is passionate about providing all children with the very best opportunities.
- Will be keen to take on responsibilities for leading and developing the curriculum and raising standards of teaching and learning across the school.
- Will be someone with high expectations and a commitment to securing outstanding progress for all learners across all curriculum areas.
- Will be someone who shares our Christian ethos and passion for children’s learning and can identify with the vision and values of our school.
- Will be keen to make a significant contribution to the wider life of the school including involvement in extra-curricular activities.
