About this Role

Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the SEND team, you will support students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.

Teaching Assistant opportunities:

  • 1 x Permanent position
  • 1 x Temporary maternity cover position

Both roles are term time only, 32.5 hours per week.

You will:

  • Support students in accessing learning across a range of curriculum areas
  • Provide in-class support for students with SEND, including those with EHCPs
  • Deliver targeted interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Support students with social, emotional and communication needs
  • Promote student independence, confidence and engagement in learning
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt resources and support strategies
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and leaders
  • Help maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment
  • Support students during unstructured times and wider school activities
  • Contribute to SEND reviews and wider pastoral support where appropriate

  • Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
  • Has experience working with children or young people aged 11-16
  • Is passionate about inclusion and supporting young people to succeed
  • Can build positive relationships with students and motivate learners
  • Has strong communication, organisation and teamwork skills
  • Is adaptable, patient and resilient in a fast-paced environment
