Working closely with teaching staff, the SENDCo and Literacy Lead, you will support students with lower reading ages, including those with SEND, through targeted interventions and in-class support.
Responsibilities
- Deliver literacy and reading interventions to individuals and small groups.
- Support students in developing reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary.
- Help students overcome literacy barriers to learning across the curriculum.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning resources and strategies.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and leaders.
- Promote a positive reading culture and encourage engagement with reading.
- Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
- Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above.
- Has experience working with children or young people aged 11-16.
