Working closely with teaching staff, the SENDCo and Literacy Lead, you will support students with lower reading ages, including those with SEND, through targeted interventions and in-class support.

About the role

  • Deliver literacy and reading interventions to individuals and small groups
  • Support students in developing reading fluency, comprehension and vocabulary
  • Help students overcome literacy barriers to learning across the curriculum
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning resources and strategies
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to staff and leaders
  • Promote a positive reading culture and encourage engagement with reading
  • Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional learning needs
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment

  • Has GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
  • Has experience working with children or young people aged 11-16
  • Is passionate about reading, literacy and inclusion
