Kingsway Park High School is seeking a passionate and committed Teaching Assistant (Level 3) or Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Seacole, our specialist inclusion provision. Depending on your qualifications, skills and experience, you will be appointed as either a Teaching Assistant Level 3 or Higher Level Teaching Assistant, with an actual salary of £21,704 - £26,875.
Seacole provides personalised support for students who need additional academic, social and emotional support while remaining connected to mainstream school life wherever possible. Working as part of our inclusion team, you will build positive relationships with students, helping them develop confidence, resilience and the skills they need to thrive both in and beyond the classroom. About the roleYou will:
- Build positive, trusting relationships with students to help them overcome barriers to learning
- Support students with SEND, SEMH and additional needs to engage successfully with school
- Deliver targeted interventions for individuals and small groups
- Support high-quality teaching and learning across a range of curriculum areas
- Help create a calm, structured and nurturing learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, pastoral teams and SEND colleagues to provide personalised support
- Monitor student progress and contribute to planning the next steps in their learning
- Promote students' confidence, resilience, independence and self-regulation
- Apply positive behaviour strategies consistently to support engagement and success
- Where appropriate to your level of appointment, lead planned learning activities or provide short-term classroom supervision
Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant looking to take the next step or an established HLTA looking for a new challenge, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, HLTA status or equivalent experience
- Has experience of working with children or young people aged 11-16
- Has experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH or additional needs
- Can build positive, professional relationships that help young people flourish
- Is patient, resilient and calm, even when faced with challenging situations
- Can adapt learning and support to meet individual student needs
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and inclusion
- Is committed to helping every young person achieve their potential
- Is willing to continue developing professionally
