Contract Details: Full time. Fixed term maternity cover.


Kingstone High School is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on a fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner, or an ambitious teacher ready to take the next step to lead and develop SEND provision within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.


As part of their role, the successful applicant will:



  • Ensure compliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements

  • Maintain and manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

  • Coordinate the delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention, with a commitment to inclusive classroom practices

  • Advise and coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN

  • Liaise with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress

  • Work closely with teaching staff to promote high-quality, inclusive classroom practice

  • Be a part of the school’s senior leadership team and contribute to whole-school improvement

  • * Note that this role will have little, or no, teaching commitment.


We are looking for someone who has:



  • Has experience working with pupils with a range of additional needs

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Achieved or be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination NASENCO

  • Strong working knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and time management skills

  • Is passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
