Contract Details: Fulltime. Fixed term maternity cover.
Kingstone High School is seeking a SENDCo to cover a maternity leave on afixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND practitioner,or an ambitious teacher ready to take the next step to lead and develop SENDprovision within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensurecompliance with the SEN Code of Practice and statutory requirements
- Maintainand manage the SEN register and coordinate EHCP reviews
- Leadand manage SEND provision across the school
- Coordinatethe delivery of high-quality teaching and intervention, with a commitment toinclusive classroom practices
- Adviseand coach staff in best practices for supporting pupils with SEN
- Liaisewith parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress
- Workclosely with teaching staff to promote high-quality, inclusive classroompractice
- Bea part of the school's senior leadership team and contribute to whole-schoolimprovement
* Note that this role will have little, or no, teaching commitment.
We are looking for someone who has:
- Has experience working with pupils with a range of additionalneeds
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Achievedor be working towards the National Award for SEN Coordination NASENCO
- Strongworking knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and relevant legislation
- Excellentcommunication, leadership, and time management skills
- Is passionate about inclusion and pupil wellbeing
