The Role
In this role, you will join our team of committed academics who enable students to transform lives through their teaching practice. You will lead our Secondary PGCE in Science, educating new teachers to become highly proficient, future-oriented practitioners. With your fellow route and curriculum leads, you will deliver teacher education programmes across all age-phases. The role also includes supervision of students in practice placements.
The Person
You are an inspirational teacher passionate about science. You have taught in secondary schools and held leadership roles in the subject. You possess a deep understanding of science education and a proven track record as a practitioner. You are determined to impact policy and practice in the field. You are currently, or eager to become, a research and knowledge exchange engaged academic. You will contribute new knowledge to education through research and scholarly activity, enhancing students\’ learning and practice. You also enjoy undertaking broader responsibilities within the Department.
Applicants must demonstrate they meet Kingston University standards in learning, teaching, and research. By the end of the probation period, you should have achieved the relevant UKPSF recognition (if not already obtained). For new teachers, this is through our accredited Introduction to Learning and Teaching; for experienced teachers, through our Kingston Academic Practice Standards Framework.
