This is a two-year fixed term position. Under the supervision of the Sports Grounds Manager, the Sports Ground Apprentice will assist in maintaining sports pitches, tennis courts, frontages, perimeters, grassed and planted areas to the standards required, making those facilities available for use by students, staff and members of the wider community.
Responsibilities

- Ensure facilities are available for use by students, staff and members of the wider community.
- Support the day-to-day operations of the sports grounds under the guidance of the Sports Grounds Manager.
Education and training timing
The Sports Ground Apprentice position at the University’s Tolworth Court sportsground will typically take 24 months to complete their education and training.
Entry requirements
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (including Maths and English and Science) or other equivalent vocational qualifications.
- If the applicant does not hold the above levels of qualifications, they must achieve level 1 in English and Maths as part of the Apprenticeship.
- Willing to learn, take instructions, have a strong work ethic including pride in work, and be punctual at all times.

Sports & Active Lifestyles also manages the gym at Penrhyn Road campus, sports amenities at Kingston Hill, and programmes such as sports volunteering, recreational activities and supporting high-performance students.
