The Role - Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer
As a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer, you'll deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across campus, ensuring buildings and systems remain fully operational, safe, and compliant. You'll bring your core trade expertise while working collaboratively across disciplines to deliver a high-quality service.
As our Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs across campus buildings
- Diagnosing faults and carry out repairs across mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems
- Working across trade disciplines to support the wider team and maintain service continuity
- Using CAFM (Planon) and BMS systems to log work and monitor building performance
- Collaborating with colleagues, contractors, and university staff to deliver efficient maintenance services
- Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards
What We're Looking For
- A recognised qualification or strong experience in a core trade (Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Heating, or similar)
- Experience in building services, facilities management, or maintenance environments
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- A proactive, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills
It would be great if you had:
- Experience working in a university, healthcare, or large-site environment
- Familiarity with CAFM systems (e.g. Planon) or Building Management Systems (BMS)
- Multi-skilled experience across additional trades
- Experience supervising contractors or supporting small projects
