We are working in partnership with a well-established and forward-thinking manufacturing business to recruit a Site Services Engineer. Reporting to the Supervisor, this role is key to ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all site utilities and infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer with a background in facilities or site services to join a business that values continuous improvement, reliability, and high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor site utilities including compressed air, chilled water, HVAC, and water systems
- Maintain pumps, pipework, and distribution systems
- Carry out plumbing repairs and minor installations
- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across site services
- Support energy reduction initiatives through monitoring and optimisation
- Maintain and fault-find automatic doors, gates, and barriers
- Ensure safe operation of all access systems
- Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance
- Coordinate external contractors where required
- Maintain plant rooms, service corridors, and external infrastructure
- Support maintenance of lighting, drainage, and general facilities
- Assist with minor building works and site improvements
- Maintain high housekeeping standards across service areas
- Execute planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules
- Respond promptly to site service breakdowns
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations
- Support Legionella control and water safety standards (ACOP L8)
- Promote safe systems of work and support risk assessments
- Act as site liaison for contractors
- Ensure compliance with permits, isolations, and site procedures
The Candidate
- Time-served engineering apprenticeship or equivalent
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (essential)
- Proven experience within site services, utilities, or facilities maintenance
- Practical experience in plumbing and pump maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Experience using a CMMS system
- Knowledge of relevant compliance and safety standards
- IOSH qualification (desirable)
- Proactive, reliable, and able to respond effectively to site issues
