Purpose of the Role:
Our client is looking to recruit an experienced Residential Conveyancer to join their established property team. This role is ideal for someone who is confident running their own residential conveyancing caseload from instruction through to completion, dealing with a range of sales, purchases and property transactions. You will join a busy and supportive team where you will manage files independently while delivering a high standard of client service.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a full residential conveyancing caseload from initial client instruction through to completion
- Provide clear and practical legal advice to clients on residential property transactions
- Conduct client meetings and obtain instructions in person and by telephone
- Handle all aspects of residential conveyancing including sales, purchases, transfers and new build transactions
- Liaise with clients, estate agents, lenders and other third parties to ensure transactions progress efficiently
- Draft and review contracts, legal documentation and correspondence
- Maintain accurate and compliant client files and records
- Record chargeable and non-chargeable time accurately using the firm’s time recording system
- Report all financial transactions and disbursements to the accounts team in accordance with firm procedures
- Prepare and present bills to clients and assist with the collection of outstanding fees
- Ensure compliance with Solicitors Practice Rules, Solicitors Accounts Rules and all relevant legal and regulatory requirements
- Carry out client identification checks and ensure compliance with anti-money laundering procedures
- Manage caseload effectively, maintaining appropriate levels of work in progress
- Close and archive files promptly and correctly following completion
- Promote the services of the firm and contribute to the continued growth of the business
