Our client, an established and successful local manufacturing company, is looking for a Materials Controller to join their team from their site in East Hull.
Reporting to senior management, you will take on two divisions of their manufacturing operations and be responsible for ordering materials and liaising with suppliers.
Key responsibilities
- Co-ordinate the timely supply of materials to the shop floor, ensuring production runs efficiently.
- Monitor and communicate delivery schedules for internationally sourced materials, ensuring stakeholders are kept informed.
- Ensure compliance with company quality standards and recognised management systems, including ISO accreditations.
- Support the development of colleagues by mentoring and sharing knowledge with both new and existing team members.
- Help maintain the highest standards of quality by working closely with suppliers and supporting quality assurance processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs and enhance processes.
The candidate
- A background within manufacturing essential coupled with a knowledge and experience of ordering materials from suppliers across the globe.
- Confident communication skills
- Strong IT skills including a working knowledge of Sage ideal.
