As part of their succession planning, they’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to work closely with the Head of Accounts and grow into a senior role over time. Based at their modern offices in Hessle, this is more than just another accounts job. It’s a genuine opportunity to develop into someone who could one day run an accounts department. What you’ll be doing
- You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full accounts function, building the skills and confidence to progress your career:
- Taking ownership of the purchase and sales ledger
- Chasing outstanding payments and managing credit control
- Posting transactions to the nominal ledger
- Preparing accounts up to trial balance
- Supporting the production of monthly management accounts
- Completing VAT returns
- Getting involved in a variety of other finance duties as your role grows
About you
- You’ll already have some solid experience in an accounting role and be keen to take the next step. This would suit someone who’s motivated, career-focused, and excited by the idea of progression.
- Experience working in accounts, ideally up to trial balance
- Studying AAT (or planning to start) with full study support provided
- Confident using Sage
- Eager to build a long-term career in finance
