Kingston Recruitment are seeking an experienced and hands-on Financial Controller to join our client as they look to create a new role in their business. As part of their succession planning, this owner/managed group of companies require an individual who can be part of the senior management team from their Head Office operation in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. With a history of success behind them, they are entering an exciting period as some large projects come to fruition. As such, they need a competent and trusted accounting professional who can ensure that business plans are supported by strong financial planning and control processes that maximise the profitability and efficiency of the business.
Key responsibilities:
- Sole accountability for all the daily accounting duties including invoicing, monitoring cashflows and banking
- Producing the monthly management accounts
- Processing the weekly and monthly payroll
- Completing CIS returns
- Producing cost analysis reports for senior management
- Completing budgetary reports on targets and forecasts
- Posting journals, accruals and prepayments
- Handling petty cash
- Processing quarterly VAT returns
- Driving improvement in processes and systems
The candidate:
Hands-on accounting experience essential with the ability to deal with invoicing through to year-end
A background of working within an owner managed business
Knowledge of the construction industry ideal but not essential
Part/Full qualified in professional accountancy qualifications
A working knowledge of Sage
On offer:
