Assistant Accountant, Hull

Our client is experiencing significant growth and we are looking to recruit an Assistant Accountant to join the expanding accounts department of their Head Office in Hull. Providing support and reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in producing accurate and detailed financial information to aid the senior management team in their decision making.

Key responsibilities:

1. Reviewing income and expenditure and conducting in depth variance analysis
2. Reconciling control accounts to trial balance
3. Managing queries relating to the purchase and sales invoicing
4. Posting monthly journals
5. Ensuring payments are made promptly and efficiently
6. Identifying potential cost savings
7. Handling petty cash
8. Additional responsibilities to cover for other members of staff in the department when required.

The candidate:
You will be experienced in a varied accounting role and ideally have either AAT Level 3 or 4. Consideration will be given to those QBE.
An understanding of variances and monthly journals is required.

A full time permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday.
Office based from their site in Hull.
