Job Title: Senior Residential Support Worker

Location: Nuneaton, West Midlands

Salary: £34,080 per annum (inclusive of sleep-in payments)

Hourly Rate: £14

Rota: 1 on / 2 off (including sleep-ins)

Service Type: Children’s Residential (EBD – Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join our client's passionate team in a solo children’s home based in Nuneaton. This is a vital role within a therapeutic EBD (Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties) setting. You will help create a safe, structured, and nurturing environment that supports positive outcomes for the child.

As a Senior RSW, you will work closely with the Registered Manager, acting as a key role model and mentor to junior staff, while ensuring the home maintains the highest standards of care and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent, trauma-informed care to a young person with emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Lead shifts, ensuring staff are supported and daily routines are maintained effectively.
  • Contribute to and implement individual care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour support plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with the child, promoting emotional security and development.
  • Support the young person with daily tasks including education, personal care, activities, and appointments.
  • Respond to challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Maintain accurate records, reports, and logs in line with Ofsted standards.
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and developing new or junior support workers.
  • Work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children in a residential setting.
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) – Essential.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed care, and child development.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work a 1 on / 2 off rota including sleep-in duties.
  • Full UK driving licence – required
