An exciting opportunity has become available at Kingston Hospital for a Medical Staffing Coordinator who will be responsible for leading in the management of Medicine clinical staffing rotas. Candidates will need to demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and have the ability to prioritise their workload in order to meet tight timescales. Previous experience with rota coordination, working within a workforce department or working with medical staff and doctors is strongly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Be responsible for the creation and pro-active management of the medical on-call rota and medical departmental rotas.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the demands and complexities of each service to support cost-efficient medical rotas.
- Ensure appropriate internal locum cover and reduce reliance on external medical agency usage, avoiding unnecessary expenditure.
- Act as the point of contact for all Resident Doctor rota issues within the Medicine department at Kingston Hospital.
- Record and follow up on absences and requests for leave to identify possible cover arrangements for rota gaps.
- Process and document requests for temporary cover (sickness leave, additional cover) and participate in permanent recruitment planning and vacancy forms.
- Maintain weekly Resident Doctors rotas for the Medicine department and ensure adequate cover for outpatient clinics, inpatients and acute on-call shifts.
