We have an exciting opportunity for a consultant specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic Team based at Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. This fixed term position has been created to cover an existing sabbatical, but is also intended for succession planning within the arthroplasty service. There is a growing demand across both hip and knee arthroplasty, both electively and through trauma.

The successful applicant will form part of the fixed 1:10 on call consultant rota and deliver outpatient services both onsite and at outreach locations. The successful applicant will join a team of 13 orthopaedic consultants and play an active part in the efficient day-to-day running of our busy unit, contributing to the ongoing development of the service.

Candidates will need to demonstrate evidence of specialist training in arthroplasty surgery which should include at least one fellowship, covering both elective and trauma services within the program.

Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust is one of four partners delivering arthroplasty services at South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre and the post holder will have weekly sessions allocated to operate there within their job plan, in addition to providing a hip replacement service for our fracture neck of femurs at Kingston Hospital. This is a full-time post and attracts 10 Programmed Activities per week, with the successful candidates being given the opportunity to discuss taking on further PA’s upon appointment.
