The Wolverton Centre (Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust) is looking to recruit a full‑time substantive consultant in Sexual Health and HIV. The centre is located on the Kingston Hospital site and prides itself on being a modern and progressive service, providing high‑quality care for patients presenting with both STI and contraceptive needs, as well as patients living with HIV. In addition to the integrated sexual health and HIV services, the service also operates psychology support, a vulval pain service and a tertiary level vulval MDT that runs a monthly clinic.

Responsibilities

  • Provide GUM and integrated sexual health clinics and cover emergency presentations to the service.
  • Share the “Duty senior clinician of the day” rota and provide consultant advice and support to the multi‑disciplinary team and training to resident doctors.
  • Undertake one HIV clinic a week and manage emergencies that present to the clinic or wards.
  • Provide clinical advice to in‑patient teams admitting patients living with HIV.
  • Contribute to the out‑of‑hours telephone on‑call service for GUM and HIV.
  • Lead the department’s digital strategy (for candidates with an interest in this area).
  • Support service development, including establishing new community services to increase access, particularly for underserved populations.
  • Act as Audit and Research lead for the department.
