An engaging and enthusiastic Teacher of Politics is required to join the Politics department from the beginning of the Autumn term 2026. The successful applicant will be able to teach A level Politics, and experience teaching History at GCSE & A level in addition to Politics would be advantageous. This is a part-time role; it is anticipated that the role will teach across 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

  • Teach A level Politics to a high standard.
  • Possibly teach History at GCSE and A level in addition to Politics.
  • Contribute to the co-curricular life of the school (e.g., clubs or activities such as Junior Science Club, Faraday Society, Engineering Club, CCF, Community Service).
  • Assist with coaching or support for school sports where appropriate (e.g., Hockey, Rowing, Cricket, Football).
  • Participate in school duties and duties related to safeguarding and welfare as required.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experience teaching Politics at A level; experience teaching History at GCSE and A level is advantageous.
  • Open to both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs).
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school, including co-curricular activities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.

Terms and Additional Information

  • Salary is paid on the Kingston Grammar School salary scale, which is stated to be above the national scale for teachers.
