Position

We are seeking to appoint a part‑time Science Technician to join our busy Science department for a fixed‑term contract of six months, covering a period of maternity leave.

Department Overview

The Science Department is divided into Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Each subject has its own Head of Department and teaching staff. Science technicians support the teaching staff by preparing practical experiments, conducting risk assessments and managing Health and Safety issues.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of all materials used for teaching in the Chemistry department.
  • Manage the day‑to‑day running of the Chemistry Prep room.
  • Provide support across the whole science faculty and assist colleagues as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a science‑related background.
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work within time constraints.
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a team.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, term time only.
