Lead Exam Invigilators in Kingston upon Thames

Job Overview

We are looking for two Lead Exam Invigilators to join our expanding invigilating team here at Kingston Grammar School.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Exams Officer with the administrative aspects of exams.
• Contribute to the efficient delivery of examinations by providing an orderly environment, offering clear instructions and being a calming presence at a time of heightened anxiety for students.
• May be solely in charge of an examination room if required.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Highly organised, vigilant and reliable.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Able to remain calm under pressure.
• Comfortable being in sole charge of an examination room.

Working Hours and Salary

We have a variety of hours and dates to offer from February 2026 and throughout the 2026/2027 academic year. These positions are required to work during key exam months throughout the year, with up to 50 working days a year in December, February, April and May/June. Notice of exam dates will be given and agreed in advance with the Exams Officer. Lead Exam Invigilators must be available to work Monday ‑ Friday during the exam periods to ensure continuity for students. Rate of pay: c. £21.12 per hour, inclusive of holiday pay.
