We have an exceptionally exciting opportunity for an inspiring teacher of Maths, thanks to very generous funding from Rokos Capital Management (RCM).

Teacher of Mathematics (Partnerships)

2 Year Fixed Term - Required from September 2026 (or January 2027 for the right candidate)

The role will largely involve joining the delivery team for the Further Maths GCSE programme, which is offered to local state schools where the qualification is not available. This is a fixed term, 2-year post, with scope to continue beyond 2 years if continuance of funding is achieved.

The successful candidate will work alongside our existing team of 3 Maths Partnership teachers. The successful candidate would aim to build on the proof of concept achieved by our existing Reece Foundation-funded Maths Partnerships teachers, who are well established in their roles.

The expectation is that you will be based at RGS and will teach a small number of lessons at our school. The remaining teaching time will be dedicated to projects aimed at raising attainment and improving access to opportunities among children from local state-funded schools.

There will also be an expectation that some activities will help to improve the skills of non-specialist Maths teachers in partner schools. You would be expected to demonstrate an entrepreneurial flair in making the most of the role: we are looking for a Maths whizz who can inspire, motivate and innovate! As such, this role is not suitable for an Early Career Teacher.

The Partnerships role also involves:

  • In conjunction with the Director of Partnerships: building on significant links with senior schools across the North-East region, linking with the teacher(s) operating in each school, providing opportunities for students in these schools. This will require working to state school term dates (which are longer than RGS term dates).
  • The focus of the role is to enable more young people to access Further Maths GCSE, as part of our successful hybrid programme. You would deliver online and in-person lessons on a weekly basis.
  • Part of the offer may involve upskilling non-specialist teachers through a bespoke CPD offer: for example, building their confidence to deliver the Further Maths GCSE programme in-house, over time. So, the role is best suited to teachers with the experience and expertise to achieve this.

There would be a budget allocated to the position to cover resources and associated costs, such as travel and expenses.

Contract Type: Fixed Term

Hours: Full Time

Salary: The salary will be determined by the RGS Teachers’ Scale.

Excellent benefits available - please see our job information pack for full details.

Closing Date: 9.00am Monday 11th May 2026
