Our Football Academy is designed to bridge the gap between grassroots youth football and men's semi-professional football whilst enabling players to study full-time in order to gain vocational qualifications in the Sports Coaching/Sports Science sector. Having run for over 20 years, the Academy prides itself on its high standards on both the football and academic front. The Academy is currently in partnership with Bedfont Sports who provide us with that link into semi-professional football, match day facilities & connections into the broader football pyramid.

We’re seeking a Sessional Academy Football Coach to plan and deliver detailed coaching sessions, lead the coaching for a squad or group at training and assist and potentially lead with one of the match day squads (lead warmups, contribute to team talks and provide detailed & effective information to players during games and at half time etc).

As our Academy Football Coach, we’d like you to have a minimum of 5 years coaching experience with players aged 14 and above and hold a minimum of the following qualifications:

  • UEFA C Coaching qualification
  • FA Safeguarding Children
  • FA Introduction to First Aid in Football

You’ll have a high level of commitment to the full weekly training schedule for the duration of the season, as well as for trials, taster days and pre-season with a reasonable level of flexibility in terms of dates/times/venues. You’ll have the ability to engage, motivate and discipline aspiring young players and be able to work with a squad/group unassisted when at training to plan, set up and run the sessions on a consistent basis.

You must hold a driving licence with use of a vehicle as you’ll need to be able to get yourself, equipment and kit to and from the training venue (Goals Tolworth), home match day venue (Bedfont Sports Club) and Kingston College on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. There is an excellent pension scheme that receives a significant financial contribution from the employer (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities and professional development and training plus a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package is pro-rated for part time staff.

As outlined in the Public Sector Equality Duty of the Equality Act 2010, we are committed to equality of opportunity for all staff and applications from individuals are encouraged regardless of age, disability, sex, gender reassignment, sexual orientation, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief and marriage and civil partnerships.
