36 hours a week over 36 weeks a year - Term Time Only. Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.

Do you have a strong desire to see students succeed? If so, we want to hear from you! Kingston College is seeking a Pastoral Tutor. This is an exciting new role aimed at improving the learner experience and improving the positive progression of all learners.

As a Pastoral Tutor, you will track and monitor the progress of a specific amount of our Further Education learners. This will include:

  • Conducting 1:1 meetings with learners
  • Delivering College group tutorial programmes
  • Liaising with members of staff and parents/guardians regarding learner progress
  • Signposting learners to wider support as and when needed

You will also be a part of the College Safeguarding team which will include supporting a caseload of students.

We'd like our Pastoral Tutors to have experience of delivering student workshops or tutorials to a diverse range of students and of supporting student progress on a 1:1 basis. We'd like you to have some experience of youth and community work and have a clear understanding of the needs of students and how these may be met.

You’ll be an excellent communicator with good interpersonal skills. You’ll be able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with people and work well as part of a high performing team. A Level 3 qualification in Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology or Health & Social Care would put you at an advantage, but it's important to know that this is by no means essential. Experience of careers advice and guidance is also desirable.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year. Closing date for the return of completed applications is 13th May 2026.

The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 27 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year as well as an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave to enhance employees' physical and mental health.
