Position Overview: Permanent, Part Time (0.6). Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards, so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence in post prior to August 2026.

The School of Creative Industries at Kingston College is seeking a dynamic, proactive, highly organised and effective course leader to drive forward the Level 3 aspect in Digital Art, Animation and Games Design.

Teaching Skills: The successful candidate will have a skilled understanding, and the ability to teach and create tutorials, on a range of software and hardware including some or all of these programmes:

  • Autodesk Maya
  • Blender
  • 3D Studio Max
  • Game Engines
  • Adobe suite including After-effects, Animate, InDesign, Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • 3D printers
  • Green screens
  • HD video/still cameras
  • Motion‑capture
  • VR (preference)

Responsibilities: You will produce schemes of work, monitor their delivery, supervise assessment, provide internal verification, and, if necessary, liaise with external verifiers/moderators and coordinate the review and evaluation of courses. You will be a hardworking and flexible individual with high personal standards and expectations, good planning, preparation, organisational, and administrative skills, and a keen awareness of future developments that influence this curriculum area, including experience of successfully monitoring and supporting at‑risk learners to achieve or exceed their potential.

Qualifications: Relevant qualifications to degree level or higher, hold a teaching qualification (or willing to work towards), and have participated in recent and relevant continuous professional development. A thorough understanding of evidence‑based teaching, learning, and assessment, with a strong record of delivering high quality learning programmes with demonstrably good outcomes, is required.

Benefits: The benefits package includes generous annual leave of 40 days plus up to 8 additional days over Christmas/New Year, an additional 5 days Wellbeing leave, an excellent pension scheme with significant employer contributions (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidised sports facilities, professional development and training, and a salary sacrifice cycle to work scheme. The benefits package is pro‑rated for part‑time staff.

Salary: The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
