About the role
We are looking for a Team Leader Reserves and Sportsgrounds to join our Open Space Department. Reporting to the Open Space Manager with two direct reports, you will oversee a team of 24 passionate people who strive to create safe, vibrant, and accessible open spaces for our community to enjoy. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, asset management, budgeting and contract management for sportsgrounds, reserves, playgrounds, and active recreation assets.
What You’ll Bring
- Ability to identify innovative and leading approaches to best practice maintenance standards of reserves and sports fields, including active recreation and playground assets
- Experience in managing annual business plans and budgets of over $10M in both operational and capital works
- Experience in contract management for service, maintenance and capital contracts
- Lead, motivate and develop team members whilst coaching, mentoring and modelling behaviours to guide the professional development of other staff
- Skills in developing good relationships across the organisation with the multiple teams, along with external customers
