Due to impending retirement of a long-serving member of our team, we are looking to recruit for the role of Quality Assurance / Health and Safety Manager. As a medium sized manufacturing organisation, the role encompasses Health and Safety, along with Quality Assurance, including BRCGS legislation.

The QA role consists of making sure our final packaging product meets the company's high-quality standards by adhering to stringent internal and external policies. Ensuring industry specific legislation is met, along with detailed knowledge of our customers' market requirements. We are heavily involved with food and healthcare related industries with regards to our cardboard based packaging products.

Duties include maintaining strong overall quality control of products made by the company, adhering to reliability, performance and customer expectation. Inspection of products is part of the job with the obligation to report and document findings. A large part of the QA role involves industry specific legislation.

The ideal candidate would have knowledge of the packaging industry, where food and healthcare standards are in force. Knowledge of cardboard based packaging would be extremely beneficial. Knowledge of industry certification bodies such as BRCGS would offer a significant advantage; PEFC and FSC would also help.

The Health and Safety aspect involves promoting a safe working environment throughout our company, whilst ensuring productivity and efficiency is maintained. You'll also ensure that employees comply with safety legislation and that safety policies and practices are adopted and adhered to.

The role is a permanent position and involves working in a hybrid environment between our onsite office and onsite production facility. Our company is one of the UK's leading carton converters. Established in 1917, our fully independent business operates out of a four acre site in Kingston upon Hull. We produce over 350m cartons per year for some of the most iconic brands in the country. Our focus is on quality of product and service, so this vacancy is an important role within our organisation.
