An established, highâtechnology manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Production Team Leader / Supervisor to join its operations team. This is a permanent opportunity within a complex, lowâvolume, highâvalue manufacturing environment, offering genuine responsibility, progression, and exposure to cuttingâedge products.
The Role
As Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a shiftâbased value stream team across production and test activities. You will play a key role in driving safety, quality, delivery, cost, and people performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will work closely with Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering functions to ensure customer requirements are met and operational targets are achieved. This role suits someone who enjoys handsâon leadership, coaching teams, and improving processes in a technical manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a production value stream team on shift
- Drive safetyâfirst behaviours and compliance at all times
- Deliver against quality, cost, delivery, and productivity targets
- Coach, develop, and manage performance within the team
- Promote Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support audits and external accreditations
- Represent production areas to internal stakeholders and visitors
- Contribute to operational strategy, process improvements, and new projects
Experience & Background
- Proven experience as a Production Team Leader / Supervisor
- Background in engineering or manufacturing (electronics or mechanical assembly ideal)
- Experience leading technicians or production staff in a technical environment
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes in lowâvolume, highâcomplexity settings
- Lean manufacturing exposure (Lean Green Belt desirable)
- Engineering qualification, apprenticeship, or equivalent handsâon experience
Shift Pattern
Standard days: MondayâThursday 8:30 am â 4:30 pm; Friday 8:30 am â 1:00 pm. Every 6â8 weeks: Late shift rotation for 2 weeks â MondayâThursday 2:00 pm â 10:00 pm; Friday 12:00 pm â 5:00 pm.
