Kingston Barnes has a fantastic opportunity for a warehouse manager working with one of our clients in the Bristol area. The successful candidates will be responsible for leading the stores function and take ownership of stock accuracy, goods in performance, and daily flow of materials into production.
The company: Our client is a market leader in the construction of commercial vehicle bodies. They work with many different companies to modify vehicles to be used across many different industries. Their projects include tippers, box vans, drop sides and specialist builds. They are a family run company with a great working atmosphere and a brand new site.
The Role: You will be responsible for ensuring the business has strong stock controls in place, an efficient kitting operation, and you will have implemented a reliable process across the department. You’ll oversee a team of ten and report directly to the planning director. Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the Stores and Kitting team, setting clear standards and expectations
- Maintain high inventory accuracy through effective stock control processes
- Ensure Goods In is received, checked, and processed promptly
- Oversee kitting activities to ensure production receives the right materials on time
- Manage stock levels, locations, and movements using Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
- Identify and implement practical process improvements
- Work closely with Planning, Production, and Purchasing to ensure smooth material flow
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised warehouse environment
About you:
- Proven experience managing a stores, warehouse, or materials team
- Strong working knowledge of ERP systems
- A proven record of improving stock accuracy and warehouse processes
- Confident leader
- Experience working to clear KPIs and deadlines
- A background in automotive, manufacturing, or production-led environment
- An understanding of lean or continuous improvement is desirable
