Mechanical Maintenance Technician – Energy Recovery Facility

Salary: Β£49,000 per annum+ Call out allowance+ Bonus
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30–16:30
Bonus: Up to 10% discretionary annual bonus
On-Call: 1 week in 4
The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join a well-established Energy Recovery Facility (ERF) in Exeter.
You will play a key role in maintaining the site's mechanical plant and equipment, supporting the Operations team and ensuring maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
The role will also involve supporting plant improvement projects, helping to increase reliability, improve performance and reduce operational costs.
The Role

  • Carrying out planned and preventative maintenance across the site.
  • Identifying faults and carrying out repairs on mechanical plant and equipment.
  • Supporting the Operations team with breakdowns and maintenance requirements.
  • Working in line with Health & Safety procedures, risk assessments and safe operating procedures.
  • Supporting improvement projects focused on plant reliability and cost reduction.
  • Assisting with the training and development of new and existing team members.
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety across all maintenance activities. Equipment You'll Work With The facility operates a wide range of heavy process equipment, including:
  • Conveyors
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • High-pressure pumps
  • Water systems
  • Motors
  • Steam boilers About You We're looking for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Engineer or Mechanical Fitter with experience working within a process, heavy engineering or manufacturing environment. Ideally, you'll have:
  • Previous mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience carrying out planned and preventative maintenance.
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and repair skills.
  • Experience within heavy engineering, FMCG, process manufacturing, Energy from Waste, naval or military environments.
  • The ability to work effectively within a high-pressure production environment.
  • Good communication and written skills.
  • A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures.
  • Previous supervisory or team-leading experience would be advantageous. xgikmsk
