Kingston Barnes is working exclusively with a leading manufacturing business based in Bridgwater, who are looking to bring on board a Tooling & Maintenance Engineering Technician to join their high-performing engineering team.
This is a hands-on, technically diverse role that blends precision tooling with mechanical maintenance, supporting production agility and operational efficiency across a busy, forward-thinking site. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid background in precision machining and machinery maintenance who’s ready to take ownership of tooling solutions and make a real impact on site reliability and performance.
What you\’ll be doing:
Tool Fabrication – Manufacture and refurbish tooling to tight specifications using both manual and CNC machinery.
Design Collaboration – Work with the design team to interpret drawings and develop new tooling solutions.
Maintenance Support – Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on production equipment and site facilities.
Innovation & Problem Solving – Deliver fast, effective solutions to engineering challenges and help optimise production processes.
Workshop & Safety – Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workshop environment.
Mentoring & Team Support – Support colleagues and apprentices with technical expertise.
What we’re looking for:
Apprentice-trained or technically certified in engineering.
Strong background in precision machining, tool design, and fabrication.
Experience maintaining and repairing industrial machinery and site equipment.
Confident with manual & CNC turning/milling.
A proactive, problem-solving mindset with excellent communication skills.
