The Role
- Build systems, sub‑assemblies and parts for complex systems efficiently to the correct quality levels and ISO standards.
- Ensure that the requirements of the BOM and the customer specification are achieved.
- Identify and resolve build problems.
- Report technical issues and record them using the FRACAS process.
- Maintain technical competence by undertaking necessary training.
- Act as a point of reference so technicians in the build area are fully aware of the build sequence.
- Train and guide less experienced technicians.
- Set an example of the highest level of build cleanliness, housekeeping, health and safety, and support and promote 5S initiatives.
- Contribute to the performance of the Production Team through continuous improvement initiatives.
The Requirements
- Mechanical qualification or apprenticeship minimum level 3.
- Mechanical assembly or fitting experience in a precision environment.
- Experience within a workshop environment or similar.
- Experience of reading mechanical engineering drawings.
- Candidate must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
Hours
- Early Shift – Monday to Thursday 6am – 2pm, Friday 6am – 12pm.
- Afternoon Shift – Monday to Thursday 2pm – 10pm, Friday 12pm – 5pm.
- Each working week consists of four 8‑hour shifts and one 5‑hour shift, following the rota.
Salary
£32,000 – £36,000 + 17.5% shift allowance, equating to £37,600 – £42,200.
