The Role:
- Actively ensure no product non-conformity escapes to customers.
- Accurate and appropriate measurement of product features to determine conformance/non-conformance to drawing/model.
- Selecting appropriate measurement strategies which align to tolerance requirements for first-off, in-process, pre/post-subcontract, and end of line product validation activities (incl. special processes) including Process Control Plan completion.
- Improvement of the inspection processes to increase efficiency and/or effectiveness.
- Planning and performing appropriate MSA studies.
- Adheres to the requirements of the company Health & Safety Policies & Management System.
- Conducting inspection processes to meet Customer, regulatory & internal requirements.
- Programming and use of Aberlink CNC CMM's using 3D models and/or 2D drawings.
- Programming and use of optical measuring machines (e.g. Keyence, Shaft scanner).
- Conducting measurements of products, tooling and fixtures as required.
- Digitally report measurement outputs including for PPAP, FAIR and improvement activities.
- Analyse data to determine calibration methods and frequencies.
- Organise calibration of measurement devices traceable to national standards.
- Responsible for general housekeeping within their area.
General duties: Ensure that all activities are exercised in accordance with company policy and procedure (including standard operating, health and safety and HR procedures).
The Candidate:
- A wide knowledge and experience of application of manual and CNC CMM etc. measurement equipment.
- A knowledge of Aberlink offline programming is preferable.
- Ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Ability to inspect aerospace components to tight tolerances.
- Able to select appropriate measuring equipment for part size confirmation; conventional measuring equipment and/or CMM.
- Working within an AS/EN/JISQ 9100 compliant QMS workplace.
- Ability to raise clear and accurate NCR reports and, when required, support investigations to establish root cause, corrective and preventative actions.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office365 packages - Word, Excel, Teams etc.
- Motivated individual, capable of using initiative and being a team player.
- Flexible and open to learn, give and receive feedback to improve & grow.
- Proactively demonstrating integrity towards quality and compliance to maintain and improve our product standards.
- Lead by example by living the company mission and values, demonstrating a proactive, ethical and can-do approach.
