Kingston Barnes is recruiting for a Mechanical Workshop Fitter for our client in the Castleford area.

This position involves around workshop-based dismantling, refurbishment, and assembly of pump and diesel sets. The working hours in the workshop are Monday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:30, Friday: 08:00 – 13:30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantling, rebuilding, and refurbishing pumps and diesel sets in the workshop
  • Ensuring all inspection and assembly documentation is complete
  • Following procedures, policies, and work instructions
  • Electrical inspection of pumps
  • Mechanical measurement of components and critical dimensions
  • Pressure testing pump sets
  • Assisting with the field service department as and when required

About you:

  • Skilled Mechanical Fitter
  • Experience with diesel pump sets or rotating equipment or centrifugal pumps
  • Mechanical apprenticeship, qualifications, or time served
  • Experience working in a similar role within an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Fault-finding skills
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Desirable qualifications/training:

  • CSCS Card
  • Confined space training
  • Lifting & Slinging
  • Water Hygiene qualified
