We are recruiting for a Mechanical & Electrical Field Service Fitter to join an established engineering business specialising in industrial pumps and rotating equipment. This is a hands-on role split between workshop and field service, covering the inspection, refurbishment, repair, assembly and testing of pump equipment. Typically 40% workshop / 60% field-based, increasing to 70–80% field work during busier periods.
Key Responsibilities
- Dismantling, inspecting, repairing and rebuilding pump equipment
- Mechanical and electrical inspection, testing and fault finding
- Repair and maintenance of diesel engine-driven pump sets
- Measuring components and identifying required spare parts from drawings
- Completing inspection reports and technical documentation
- Assembly and testing of pumps and associated equipment
- Carrying out field service work at customer sites
- Collecting and delivering equipment when required
- Maintaining high standards of quality and health & safety
About You
- Mechanical or Electrical Apprenticeship, relevant qualification or time-served experience
- Experience with pumps, rotating equipment and/or diesel pump sets
- Experience with electric motors and control equipment
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills
- Able to read and understand engineering drawings
- Full UK driving licence
- Hands-on, proactive and able to work independently
- Flexible approach with good problem-solving skills
- Centrifugal pump experience is highly beneficial.
The following are desirable but not essential: CSCS, Confined Space, Overhead Crane/Lifting & Slinging, Water Hygiene, ATEX or Forklift licences.
Salary & Benefits:
- £40,000 basic salary

- Monday–Thursday 08:00–16:30
- Friday 08:00–13:30
